The Association of Echocardiography

The Association of Echocardiography (AEPCS – Association of Echocardiography, Polish Cardiac Society) is a specialty community of the Polish Cardiac Society created to bring together physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in cardiovascular imaging.

Its primary mission is to promote high-quality echocardiography and support its continuous development in Poland. The Association places particular emphasis on education and the systematic improvement of professional competencies.
We are dedicated to promote research, facilitate networking and provide high-quality education in echocardiography. Our flagship event, POLECHO Congress established in 1999, has grown to solid attendance of 1500 professionals.

Our yearly timetable program includes around 25 stand-alone events during the year. This includes a wide range of on-site courses, workshops, and hands-on training sessions (live scanning and simulators), covering the needs of both beginners and experienced echocardiographers. We also offer regular webinars, enabling participants from across Poland to learn from leading experts in cardiovascular imaging. These activities cover fundamental and advanced echocardiographic techniques as well as their application in everyday clinical practice.

The Association promotes the implementation of current scientific evidence, international guidelines, and standardized imaging protocols. It also operates a national accreditation system for physicians practicing echocardiography, confirming their knowledge, skills, and professional competence.

In addition, the Association has created an accreditation programme for echocardiography laboratories in Poland, supporting consistent standards of equipment, examination quality, reporting, and organization. Through these broad educational and accreditation activities, the Association contributes to improving the quality, reliability, and accessibility of echocardiographic diagnostics throughout Poland.
